GOALS

1.     To reflect on the meaning of the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

2.  To draw attention to the continued existence and proliferation of nuclear weapons, and particularly to the accelerated pace of weapons development in the United States.

3.  To draw attention to the human, ecological, and economic consequences of our national commitment to nuclear weapons.

4.  To educate, empower, and motivate local citizens to actively work for the total elmination of nuclear weapons by the year 2020, the 75th anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings.

5. To create a safer, more peaceful world.  A world where our grandchildren and their grandchildren will be less likely to be killed or injured by nuclear weapons or accidents.
